What extemp says. Yes, the "for dummies" does add a certain cachet to the guide, but that's not the big thing. The big thing is that the novels are such easy reading. One can read the entire series in very little time. Any guide to Narnia, to my mind, would be about 50 pages long at most, and hardly deserving of being published as a "book". If it is a substantial book, then you might as well be reading the novels!
