I have another one to add to your list: The Flight of Gemma Hardy, by Margot Livesey. The suthor grew up in Scotland and has brought Jane Eyre into the mid-1960s in very specific places from her childhood. I heard the author interviewed on the radio, and it reminded me I want to reread the original.
