I can't imagine having a high quality of life after a nosectomy, and since there are no guarantees there, it seems as if it would be needless pain with no sure gain. I would let her frolic while she can, and then give her a dignified ending. Ultimately, though, the choice is yours and the EL's, and it's not a choice I would wish upon anyone.
