The brain fog really is a thing. A colleague got knocked flat by Covid and thereafter, even though ostensibly recovered, kept doing really silly things. At one point she and I were supposed to be present at and grading a bunch of presentations. I happened to pass her on the stairs as she wombled back to her office when she was supposed to be going in the other direction. Upon being reminded about what we were supposed to be doing and her looking blank, I told her "I've got this. Just relax and come along. It'll be fun. You just need to sit and smile and enjoy yourself." In related news she is currently on 25% hours by doctor's orders.
