the divvil at my elbow

Goodness. Yesterday was apparently the tenth anniversary of the first unleashing of Buffy upon an unsuspecting world. Given that I picked up the bug only a couple of years into its run, it seems a remarkably short space of time for me to have arrived at my current all-seasons-owning, ravening-fangirl status. I'd blame [livejournal.com profile] d_hofryn, except that I think I might have infected her rather than the other way round. At any rate: I'm looking forward to seeing the new Dark Horse comics, but in the meantime, have any of you Buffy/comic geeks actually seen the 2003 futuristic-Slayer series Fray? Looks interesting.

In default of any more earth-shattering ideas for a blog entry, I shall summarise the last few days with a poll.

[Poll #944289]
I think some kind of definite theory might be therapeutic, actually. Last night I dreamed that a new species of moth had infested the blister, and several layers of their hibernating larvae had to be removed from my flesh by a random, friendly doctor with a scalpel. Freaky.

Bunny Threat Level: owing to a useful sudden moment of conceptual coherence in this chapter, rising slowly out of the green.

You cannot lick (or nibble) your own elbow. Most people who hear this promptly try to do so. It's a meme of sorts.

My theory is spontaneous plague or trickery by felines!

It could be that the SpontPlague has given you special powers - like the ability to nibble your elbow?

Sheer heat. It's embarrassing for me to admit that such a large scar on my leg was caused by a hot water bottle. You probably leaned on something hot. As for Fray, yes and no it's not. Mind you, "once more with feeling" is my favorite episode and the only one I will admit to having seen so my taste is suspect. It's not part of the 32.0 GB of comics on my files server, nor did I bother to back it up so I don't have it. It would not be hard to obtain again.

Bother. I don't find it difficult to believe that Fray might be a bit arb, your sub-standard Buffy-fancying notwithstanding - the Firefly expansion comics didn't impress me at all. Also, further research suggests that Fray is likely to irritate me terminally even if it is good, on account of how it perpetuates the usage of "scythe" to describe the mystic, ornate axe-thing Buffy had in Season 7. It's not a scythe. Gah.

Gah! Spoilers! :)

(currently watching Buffy season 7)

It's the table I'm sure. I get them myself sometimes after an evening of resting elbows on tables in a mildly sozzled fashion.

If this is the case, it's a strangely reverse/opposite blister formation - I mostly seem to lean on my left elbow, which doesn't really explain why the blister formed on the right. Unless it's sheer sympathy.

Darned mysterious blisters. Mutter.

Ah but the less leaned upon elbow can swivel and move more. Or I may just be talking rubbins, I don't know:)
Have a great day!

I totally infected you :)
