Tuesday, 18 July 2006 09:32 pmSomewhat bizarre day, actually. Apart from the fact that coming off the pill is making me psychotic in fits and starts, I seem to be coming down with a virus that's giving me the general sensation of having slept for two hours and then run four times around the common carrying a barrel of beer. Not too coherent, me. Also a bit trippy, which is worrying since I spent the afternoon at the aquarium with my mother, sister and niece, and am hallucinating those big, pompous fish that look like Dickensian aldermen. Not to mention the small crowd of clownfish that did a spirited piranah imitation and clustered thickly and threateningly against the glass in front of my niece. Evil fish! Fish are evil!
Shire business meeting this evening randomly discussed the political meltdown, giving me a small but perfectly formed psychotic episode in which red rage took over to the point where I couldn't actually see. The world is tragically full of dickheads.
On the other hand, it's also pleasingly filled with people like Popcorn & Chainmail, a cheery LJ community dedicated to the dissection of contemporary movies for their deep historical inaccuracies. I thought King Arthur and Elizabeth were bad until I read the one on The Sound of Music. Also well worth reading, check the Troy entry for a link to another Troy parody which made me snort Earl Grey out my nose.
I shall now go and sleep a great deal.
