OK, so now my stomach muscles are aching from laughing to the point where I'm forgetting about the aching back. This suggests that, unbelievably, somewhere in the fundamental heart and mind of the universe there is actually something like a Reason and a Purpose to Really, Really Bad Harry Potter Fanfic. A collection of completely hysterical Potterfic summaries is up here, link courtesy of Confluence. Read it and weep. Oh, and beware of Lord Volemort.

Trader in the Mist

Heh. The one that broke me first was the one about Albus's heart, which followed him to Paris. Sometime after that, there was the "trader in the mist", and the one with the trick involving a banana, and then there was a period of about five minutes when Hodgestar was reading over my shoulder and I was choking and entirely unable to breathe. Good stuff. :)

I'm rather taken with "Will Ginny accept Draco's preposition!" It seems to me to put a finger rather neatly on the nub of all of this, which is the tragic fact that all these writers have a deep, powerful yearning to write, and simply do not have the tools. Prepositions included. It's pathetic: the wild stabs towards some sort of narrative, the misty sense they have of the sort of things a narrative should include, and the complete and absolute failure to realise that in any competent way. MTV has a horrible lot to answer for.
