The best explanation I can invent for the irritations of this morning is that some bastard crept in during the night and surgically implanted, without benefit of anasthetic, a small, continuously-active EMP grenade in the back of my neck. This explains the following:
  • Waking up this morning with a massive back/neck ache, despite absolute absence of any physical exertion likely to cause same; I now cannot move my head left, right, up or down without wincing and curses.
  • Switching on my computer to discover that it's had a total CMOS failure and refuses to boot up, although it's gamely trying every time the phone rings, which means it's overwritten all the bloody settings again; if my last CMOS battery failure was any indication, I'll have to replace the motherboard. Again.
  • Trekking up to campus and switching on my campus computer, only to have a series of Windows crashes which caused me to have to reboot several times. Even now, while it has grudgingly consented to work, it hangs in an introspective and slightly threatening manner every few minutes.
Don't let me near any vital technology, people. I'm dangerous.

Levels of irritation are not being helped by internet withdrawal, hormones, a feminist seminar meeting at lunchtime, and the looming threat of Phase 2 of the Shire conflict resolution meeting this evening. Growl. Grump. Gaah.

Conflict resolutions

Good luck with the aforementioned sticking bits of paper to the wall.

May the best paper win!

:)

Expect to relate blow by blow (lit.?) to the usual sunday invasion?

Me? Have flu, lack of sleep and larp tonight, complete with being green.
GAh.

Green? why green? You're a bit odd, sometimes... Although, I have to admit, not necessarily any odder than sticking bits of paper to the wall.

Clearly, as [livejournal.com profile] starmadeshadow points out, it's just a bad day, you know... I have just compounded its complexities by locking myself out of my office for 45 minutes. Gah. Good word.

I'd guess "Green" as the answer to the question:
"And what colour is our sputum today, hm?"

It is clearly a bad day worldwide; I'm as irritable as can be, nothing is working, and I want to go home. Cape Town home, that is. Am sending 'Happy Shire Conflict Resolution' vibes your way. Of course, if you manage to free the EMP grenade, there might be alternative ways of resolving the conflict =)

I'm figuring that if I simply glare hard enough at someone who's being annoying, the EMP field should tangle their neuron activity sufficiently that they'll only be able to sit there, cross-eyed, and gargle. I rather look forward to this ;>.
