No, really. Demonic Tots. (Courtesy of Bowleserised.) Feel the fifties fear.

I am faintly disturbed to notice that, in Friday's poll, absolutely no-one thinks I should run away and join the Navy. What's wrong here? Am I somehow insufficiently nautical? *hurt*

< pedant > Interesting. My reading in early 20C British lit, and classics such as Pratchett, suggests that Percy and Rupert are slang terms for a British army officer, not just a soldier. "Jack", on the other hand, tends to refer to the lower ranks only. < /pedant >

Yes, Percy and Rupert are officer slang, while pongo is for all ranks. Jack, however, is for the Navy - Jack Tar.
