Miffed. I thought I was a unique and beautiful snowflake. Am also weirded to discover that my sister, whose first name I would have thought is a lot more common than mine, has absolutely no counterparts in the US, in any possible way I can spell her first name.
Driving over the railway bridge this morning, I glanced down at the station to see a tall, thin man all in white advance to the edge of the platform to check for approaching trains. For an instant his proximity to the orange line on the edge of the platform made him look like a cricket fielder out at the boundary, and the whole station faded momentarily into a green field with spectators relaxed under the trees and the soft, lazy "pock" of bat on ball - I actually saw it for a moment. My early-morning grasp on reality is clearly somewhat tenuous. Also, rather too much influenced by Ian Hay, Dorothy Sayers, P.G. Wodehouse, and a Zimbabwean co-ed school childhood.

There are 135 of me in the Uk, and exactly 1 one you. Your evil twin. Or perhaps *you* are the evil twin?

Date: Thursday, 8 March 2007 07:58 pm (UTC)Thus saith Yournotme. I feel special. No Merkins, either, though using the spelling Robyn brings up four. But still no Brits - unsurprising, since it's really not used as a girl's name over here.
scroob
Haha!
