Jo&stv, lovely people, have found a local supplier of my favourite drug, viz. current Doctor Who. Have watched the first two episodes. What's got into the scriptwriters? they're starting the new year with mad upward leaps in an already high quality1. The action flows, the wit flows even faster, the Doctor is reaching new heights of adorableness, Martha is kick-butt efficient and is almost, but not quite making me forgive the British for Bridget Jones. Loved the Judoon and all the magnificent, incongruous moon landscapes, loved the take on Shakespeare. Wasn't entirely sure the Shakespearian witches worked all the time, but still a very good episode. Am now frothing for the next one. Froth, froth.

The frothing might also be my state of health. Have spent the weekend feeling Exceedingly Weird, TM, including dizziness, nausea and a rampaging temperature for most of today. Off to the nice doctor again tomorrow, by hook, crook or frantic pleading. I can't function like this. I tend to sit for half an hour staring at a single paragraph on the screen and feebly willing it to make sense. Not the best writing technique, really.

1 Although, to be fair, that might simply be relief - I honestly believe Russell T. Davies, much though I respect his work, rustled up the Christmas special script in about half an hour, late one night, while drunk, stoned, distracted by dancing boys, and suffering from delusions of artistic omnipotence. It was a collection of holes loosely tied together with scenery-chewing.

Bunny Threat Level: sort of did some almost work, so I'd say holding is legit, but no advance.

Curse all those passionate embraces!

Actually, I think this is the incipient mucus shoggoth in my sinuses - I've basically returned to the status quo which made me stagger off to the nice doctor for antibiotics at the end of last year. The recent sinus infection has simply made the natives restless. Sigh.

froth no more, L has episode 3! we watched it last night.

it is a pastiche of familiar SF themes but sufficiently scary to make me grip L's hand rather hard.
